Please take a few minutes and review these questions. Is YOUR orginization prepared to handle a crisis?

1. Do you have a functional Crisis Management Plan defining procedures for addressing both the tactical and strategic aspects of predictable crisis events?
2. Do you have a current Crisis Management Organization chart that defines the positions and position holders for predictable crisis events?
3. Do you have realistic Crisis financial delegations of authority to promote rapid and comprehensive response by your organization, starting at the incident site?
4. Do you have Crisis Public Affairs delegations of authority to promote rapid and comprehensive communication efforts by your organization, starting at the incident site?
5. Do you have a Crisis Medical Policy that addresses impacts of crisis events to civilians, contractors and others potentially impacted by a crisis?
6. Do you have a Crisis Human Resources Policy that addresses impacts of predictable crisis events to employees, contractors, neighbors and others who could be impacted by a crisis?
7. Do you have a Crisis Claims Policy that focuses on treating people with courtesy and respect while seeking to resolve claims issues?
8. Have you conducted a worst case Crisis training exercise in the past twelve months to confirm organizational readiness to respond to all aspects of predictable crisis events?
9. Have you trained side-by-side with the outside, non-organizational teams you would respond with in real Crisis events?
10. Has your organization fully considered the image and reputation potential of predictable Crisis events and developed contingencies to reduce the negative impacts of such events?
11. Do you have a Crisis Response Template for managing violence in the workplace?
12. Do you have a Crisis Response Template for managing the psychological impacts of predictable crisis events?
