Crisis Media Training
The objective of the course is to provide identified communicators with the confidence and skills necessary to participate in media interviews during response to a major emergency or crisis event. General media communications skills are also taught. Participants should have media contact duties included in their emergency response job duties.
 
Policy Clarification and External Issue Management
The firm has developed and conducted numerous senior management facilitations designed to surface and discuss emergency policy as it differs from day-to-day policy. These sessions have also helped organizations to anticipate and prepare for extreme public and media interest generated by major unplanned events. If organizations are likely to partner with external responders, they are encouraged to invite those groups to participate in facilitations. At the conclusion of group work. Lessons learned are defined and accountabilities are assigned for resolution of issues raised by the dialogue.
 
Communication Plans
Organization-specific Communications Plans have been developed to support headquarters and field operating sites in the event of a major unplanned incident. Plans are concise and focus on notification, assessment of potential, response options, expected Q&A, pre-approved news releases, etc.
 
Development of Crisis Training Exercises
Webster & Associates has assisted in development and conduct of small, medium and large emergency response training exercises. Participation has ranged from five people to more than 1000 participants and formats have ranged from tabletop exercises to full field deployments to test emergency response plans. The firm has developed and participated in more than 100 exercises and training drills around the world.
 
Customized Crisis Management Support
Charles Webster may be retained to develop crisis management tools, review existing plans and protocols, or meet with management to explore their crisis management needs. Personal counsel draws upon his decades of experience both as a senior responder and as a local and network journalist.
 
Relationship Management Seminar
Webster & Associates offers a highly interactive multi instructor two-day on-site seminar for people who need to effectively communicate in order to succeed. Cameras are used to record their presentations and personal feedback is provided. The program also includess input from a respected research Psychologist from UCLA and others who have distinguished themselves as effective communicators. The class is limited to 12 individuals and focuses on one-to-one communications, community outreach, town hall meetings and non-crisis interactions.
